As reported in the most recent edition of Wine Spectator, biotech researchers in Vienna have found that red wine contains “favorable levels of a chemical currently used to treat type 2 diabetes patients. In time, they say, red wine treatments may offer an alternative to current therapies.” So far, Zweigelt and Blaufrankish top the charts for their diabetes-punking properties. Well, hot damn! Pass the corkscrew, wontcha?
