Three former Demand Media executives have just launched their new venture, Tastemade, touted as the “first global food network.” The company published a press release announcing a $5.3 million Series A round of funding to support its launch, which will be competing in the Americas, Europe and Asia. To get things going, Tastemade is launching with three main channels: Tastemaker Series, a modern take on video recipes; Cooking Shows, shows aimed to deliver compelling programming that drives social conversation; and Food Travel Show, the world of food to your screen. Tastemade is based in Southern California and is ready to connect the world through food.
