Researchers at Harvard School of Public Health and the University of Washington monitored a group of roughly 2,700 adults aged 65 years or older for 16 years and found that eating oily fish once or twice a week could possibly add a few years to your life. In fact, those who ate fish such as salmon, trout and herring, which are high in omega-3s, lived 2.2 years longer. The researchers note that it wasn’t a random trial and this doesn’t actually prove you’ll live longer by eating oily fish, but do recommend it and concede it’s a great bang for your buck when planning your next menu.
